28 Days of Rejection: Day 10

Day 10: “Ask to give a speech at a Friendsgiving.”

Day 10 — Last time, he sang me a birthday song when it wasn’t my birthday, and this time, Jason Bowers rejected me. Funny story too, I did not catch this challenge on camera, but it was very funny for those of us sitting at the table. Setting the scene, my wife, Erin and I, were sitting with a few friends at Jason’s own friendsgiving at the Daily Ration.

Jason had given a “speech” at the beginning to open things up, and as the evening began winding down, I thought it would be a great opportunity to ask him if we could have a second speech. I pitched the idea saying, “When we finish eating, maybe we can move all the tables and set up a dance floor. If you want, I’ll give a speech before the dancing begins.”

He immediately fired back, “What the heck do you need to give a speech about!” Perhaps this is something you had to be there for to find funny, but it all happened so fast that everyone at the table burst out in laughter. This one was among the most enjoyable rejections I’ve had so far.
