Traveling East
We've been out of town a lot lately!
The first couple of weekends in May, you may have seen that I traveled to Asheville for a technique-specific training with The Art of the Specific, and then again, I traveled with Erin to attend Lyceum in Spartanburg, SC for continuing education.
Why?
Well, if you are a client of mine, you would know that I am constantly thinking of my clients and how to help them achieve their health goals as well as improve our clinic experience. In order to achieve this, we constantly pursue more knowledge and training in understanding our craft and human potential. This also means putting in a lot of extra hours working and studying!
Crazy, huh?
Maybe passionate is a better word! So, since you may be curious. I will give you a little of the inside scoop on some of these trainings.
The Art of the Specific
If you are on my email list you would have heard about The Art of the Specific and about my travels with the program to El Salvador last year. The Art of the Specific doctors are a small group of upper cervical chiropractors who have specialized training on Infrared Thermographic scanning, analyses of biomechanical X-rays, and specific Upper Cervical adjusting technique. I have completed over 200 hours in this field of training and was fortunate to increase those hours last month. We would not be doing what we're doing without this amazing establishment of doctors.
Sherman College of Chiropractic
Being that chiropractic is still a growing profession — I doubt that many people are familiar with differences and reputations of the chiropractic colleges. Sherman College is certainly well-known within the industry as being one of the last to teach “straight” or “pure” chiropractic. These terms simply mean that the focus of the study at Sherman is around chiropractic’s truest purpose. That purpose is locating, analyzing, and correcting vertebral subluxation.
Okay, okay, we are using nerd-words. That big word, vertebral subluxation, has to do with the bones of the spine affecting the nervous system and your brain’s ability to communicate with the tissues of your body (ie. organs, muscles, blah-blah-blah). I could go on and on (because I am a total nerd about it), but the reason I chose this school is because I had many doctors tell me, “If you are going to specialize in chiropractic anywhere — it’s going to be at Sherman”. Turns out, that decision has turned out to be one the best I could have ever made.
It has been so rewarding to travel and learn how to elevate the practice at Novel Chiropractic. Our priority is the wellbeing of our clients and helping them get back to who and what they love. We have been fortunate to learn from some of the most well-educated doctors in our profession. It is an honor to have the opportunity to continue learning and perfecting our craft and passion!
By the way -- You are AWESOME!
