Dear Community,
If you caught my email earlier this week, you will know that I plan to talk with you about community this month.
As I have been reflecting on community, I have felt a strong conviction that I need to confess.
I've done you a huge disservice. I've been timid, and too afraid to share the whole story of chiropractic with my community because I've been afraid of rejection.
Not as much afraid that my community will reject me, but I am afraid of my community rejecting chiropractic. Because I hold this work in such high value, I hate thinking of causing someone to reject it by something I say or do.
As I have reflected on this, the one thought I hate even more is thinking of the consequences of not sharing this with people who need it. I believe that every community should have access to everything they need for healthy living, and that is why I've decided to renew my commitment to you and my community. In order to do this, I am planning a 28 day challenge for myself with 28 days of rejection.
Sounds kind of weird right? This idea was inspired by a speaker I saw by the name of Jia Jiang. He did a 100 days of rejection therapy and documented it along the way. It's actually quite entertaining (in one of the challenges, he asked a stranger if he could plant a flower in their backyard just to get a "no" from them). What he found is that fewer people than he expected told him no, and it helped him overcome that fear.
I will be starting the challenge on November 13th, and I am incredibly excited about this opportunity to renew my commitment to my community. I encourage you to follow my journey.
Yours in Health,
Dr. Chris Collins
